Who we are
The Breed Report publishes dog breed cost and health data at thebreedreport.com. For anything in this policy, contact us through the address on our About page.
What we collect
Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type. No accounts, no logins, no newsletter, no contact forms, no comments. We do not ask for your name, email address, postal address or payment details, and we have no way to receive them.
Our web host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the page requested. These are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure and are used for security and to keep the site running.
Analytics
We use privacy-focused analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not set advertising cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you. We see aggregate counts, not individuals. If we ever switch to a service that behaves differently, this page changes first and a cookie banner appears.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. If you click a paid outbound link, the partner may set their own cookie so that any commission is credited to us. That cookie is theirs, governed by their privacy policy, and is set only if you click. You can block third-party cookies in your browser without affecting anything on this site.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are paid and are labelled at the point of the link. When you click one we pass along the page you came from, so we can tell which content is working. We do not pass anything about you, because we do not have anything about you. We never receive your personal details back from a partner.
Third parties that see a request
Web fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving the font. Images, styles and scripts are served from our own domain. We embed no social widgets, no video players and no advertising scripts.
How long anything is kept
Server logs are retained by our host for a short rolling period and then discarded. Analytics data is aggregate and retains nothing that identifies a person. Contact form messages are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case the matter comes back, then deleted. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a regulator. In the UK and EU those come from the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. In California they come from the CCPA as amended by the CPRA.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Because we hold nothing that identifies you unless you have written to us, a request will usually be answered by confirming that in writing, which we will do within the statutory time limit.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at Ruff@thebreedreport.com and we will remove it.
International visitors
We operate from the United States and our host may process requests in the United States and elsewhere. If you are visiting from outside the US, your request is handled in that context.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and we describe what changed. We do not make changes retroactive.
